The Basement Tapes with Nick & Bootsy #300

Words are not enough to describe what an amazing evening we had during Show #300. We had special guests Brent Moore, Shea Spence and Preston Rodgers of The Many Colored Death in the station with us to debut all eleven tunes from their upcoming album, Duchess. Brent streamed the whole show on Facebook! The band answered questions from fans and even played LIVE in the station. The best part of the evening (if we had to choose one) was a live performance by Nick Thomas with The Many Colored Death of Nick’s original tune, Rock It, Shake It, Move It. Brent, Shea and Preston surprised him with it for his birthday, which also fell on Show #300. He was SO shocked, he almost forgot the words to his own song!!!!

The actual CD release show is at The Blue Note in Columbia, MIssouri on Friday, September 2. Since My Twins (also releasing a CD the same night), The Royal Furs and Mocklove will be part of the show, we also played tunes from those bands.

Thanks to everyone who called Nick to wish him a Happy Birthday and to everyone who watched the live stream and submitted questions for MCD. It’s going to be hard to top this one, so we aren’t even going to try! We’re inspired to bring even MORE original music to you on The Basement Tapes with Nick & Bootsy!
