Nick & Bootsy had some special musical guests in the Basement during Show #287: Brian DeVine and Crow & the Hens. Our guests traveled from Salem, Missouri where they’ve been enjoying the annual Memorial Day party at Terrapin Station. As a matter of fact, they headed back to the party (which at this writing is STILL going on. Nick and Brian jammed around the campfire until the wee hours of Sunday morning, so it was only fitting that Brian joined the crew in the basement for some live music. Crow & the Hens made their debut as the chicken choir during a live rendition of “Chicken Train” and also joined in during “Old and in the Way” (minus the clucking). It’s been a GREAT Memorial Day weekend. Please remember all those who died in active military service!
In addition to the live performances by Brian and Crow’s Hens, there was some great music by:
- Richie Rich & the Chi-Town Blues Band (Chicago IL)
- Counting Coins (Yorkshire UK)
- Black Mountain Moan (Missoula MT)
- The Stone Sugar Shakedown (St. Louis MO)
- Luna Jamboree (Springfield MO)
- Rum Drum Ramblers (St. Louis MO)
- Driving Wheel (Columbia MO)
- Morgan Washam (Columbus OH)
- Fuzzyhappy (Rolla MO)
- Lilly Bee & the Pollinators (Bootsy’s Band of the Week from Springfield MO)
Nick’s Pic is dedicated to Cathy & Dale Williams, the proprietors of Terrapin Station – the full 15 minute version of Terrapin Station by The Grateful Dead! Nick added to the “Dead Zone” with his version of West LA Fadeaway!
