Nick and Bootsy went on the road for the weekend to Columbia, Missouri to Rose Music Hall where Mercury Trio, The Many Colored Death and Don’t Mind Dying were playing a tribute show to Led Zeppelin. Show #220 started out with a live recording from that show of all three bands playing “Whole Lotta Love” together onstage. What a way to end a night of live music! We want to thank our hosts, Jason and Lori Caton (Jason plays lead guitar for Don’t Mind Dying) for opening their home to us for the event. Nick also made a new friend in Lori’s brother, Jeff, who is a HUGE Blindcat fan – he even sported a Blindcat and Mamacat t-shirt. Jeff and Nick discovered they were also both Popa Chubby fans, too, so Nick chose Popa Chubby as his Nick’s Picks for the show. Just for YOU, Jeff!!
Also on Show #222, music by:
- Blindcat McIntire
- Mutts
- Driving Wheel
- The Steepwater Band
- Lions of Hazelwood
- Revence
- Emma Moseley Band
- Stone River
- Dinsdale
- Nathan Vegas Matlock
- Rock Road Rebels
- and the Ty Curtis Band
It was a great weekend and we topped it off with a great show in the basement! We also want to thank Jeremy Hunsaker, bass player for Driving Wheel and local music expert at Vinyl Renaissance and Audio of Columbia for showing us the local music section of the store. Heads-up band in the mid-Missouri area – if you currently have your CD(s) on any of the digital music sales outlets (CD Baby; Bandcamp; Amazon; etc), you can send them to Jeremy and he’ll put them in the local section AND when your CD sells, YOU get all the money!
