The Basement Tapes with Nick and Bootsy began on Sunday, July 11 in 2010. We’ve been ON THE AIR an average of 50 out of 52 weeks during each of those hears! Hey, we’re in Missouri and the weather gets pretty crappy in the winter…
On Show #293, we take time to revisit the music we’ve played during each of those years. Believe me, it was REALLY hard to pick 3 songs to represent each year and there are WAAAAAY more bands/musicians than those on the playlist who have been a very important part of The Basement Tape with Nick & Bootsy these last 6 years.
We included several LIVE recordings from birthday shows in previous years and are happy to say that we’ve seen every band we featured on the show LIVE outside the Basement. The only exception is our featured band from outside the United States: XAD! We had a GREAT time and we think you’ll recognize it when you listen to the podcast! The bands we’ve played over the last 6 years include:
2010:
Diezelfitter
Cracked Coconuts
Riverside
2011:
Buddy Green & the Electric Haze
The Many Colored Death
Gehlert & Guinn
2012:
Nick Thomas & Chris Keehn
Moon jr
Driving Wheel
2013:
Rock Road Rebels
Alan Byrd
Don’t Mind Dying
2014:
The Invisible World
Dr. Moozer
XAD
2015:
John Galbraith
Andrew Stratman & the Dirty Midwest
Dead Bed Bad
Nick featured tunes from Point Blank during Nick’s Pics, but you’ll have to go to our YouTube Channel to hear those as well as “something completely different”.
